A former advisor to the Policy Planning Staff of the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Justin Vaïsse focuses on American foreign policy and transatlantic relations. He is also an expert on Islam in France. He teaches at Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies.  Justin Vaïsse holds a Doctorate in History and is an alum of the Ecole Normale Supérieure and Sciences-Po Paris.

Jonathan Laurence, Professor of Political Science, Boston University


Jonathan Laurence is a Professor of Political Science at Boston University. A member of the Washington based Brookings Institution as well as the New York based Council on Foreign Relations, he is also an occasional consultant for the State Department.

Justin Vaïsse and Jonathan Laurence are co-authors of the book "Integrating Islam - Political and Religious Challenges in Contemporary France".
